“Hometown Nazareth — Where Jesus Was a Child”
June 8-12, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon
People and props are needed for this year’s VBS. We need artisans (shopkeepers) in every shop plus characters throughout.
Artisan Shops: food market, brick making (outdoors), pottery, jewelry, spice, carpentry, weaving, musical instruments
Characters: shepherds, traveling musicians, Roman soldier, woman at the well, tax collector, storytellers
Props: khaki colored tents/canopies, tree stump, carpentry plane, tack hammers, heavy fabric (earth tones), muslin fabric, fabric for tunics, biblical costumes, colored burlap, menorahs, mezuzahs, prayer shawls, shofar, wooden beads, air dry modeling clay, 4 hay bales, spices (whole and ground cloves, cinnamon sticks, rosemary, basil and anise), pottery jars, strawberry pots, large aloe plant, potting soil, tall bamboo poles (no leaves), mortars and pestles, baskets (no holiday), sheep’s wool.
Seamstresses are needed as soon as possible for simple child/adult size tunics. $70 will purchase a canopy from Old Time Pottery which will be used church-wide after VBS.
