Appalachian Outreach Work Week

As a community shaped by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, we are called to meet the needs of hurting people.

The members of First Baptist Church will be participating with the ministry of Appalachian Outreach during the June 17-22 Work Week. Our members are invited to sign up to participate in one of two areas.

1. HOME REPAIR - This ministry typically works on exterior additions to homes, such as front or back decks and entrance ramps. All skills are welcome on this work team. Non-construction people are welcome spend time with the family being served. If you would like to work one day, or many days, all are welcome.  To volunteer or ask questions, please fill out the form below, or contact Ken Morton. Volunteers should sign up by May 15.

2. MEALS - Our church will be the meal site to feed the entire Work Week teams. We are preparing for around 85+ people this year. We will feed the teams breakfast on Monday to Friday and dinner on Monday to Thursday. The Wednesday night meal will be a church-wide potluck, so we ask our church members to bring a dish to help feed our guests. If you would like to volunteer to help prepare and serve meals, please fill out the form below, or contact Betty Aldredge.

3. CARE PACKAGES - Appalachian Outreach missionaries serve for 10 weeks in the summer. One way our church, as well as others in our area can make those missionaries feel loved and taken care of is through care packages. You will see a list of names below who are serving this summer. If you would like to offer a care package, please drop them off at the Ministry Center - 511 Municipal Dr, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Below are suggestions for care packages.
