Dr. Christine Jones, Associate Professor of Religion, teaches Introduction to the Old Testament, Faith, Freedom, and the Individual, and a variety of Old Testament electives. She earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies/Languages from Ouachita Baptist University, a M.Div. from George W. Truett Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies/Old Testament from Baylor University. She joined Carson-Newman's Department of Religion in the fall of 2008. As a member of First Baptist Church Jefferson City, Christine currently teaches in the Agape and College Sunday Bible Study classes. In the past, she served on staff at churches in Arkansas and Texas in the areas of children and youth ministry. She occasionally provides pulpit supply for churches in East Tennessee and Kentucky. Christine lives in Jefferson City with her husband Greg and two daughters, Bethany and Kathryn. She enjoys reading, kayaking on the lake, baking sweet treats, and spending time with her family.
