Carolyn and Bill Blevins - May 1

We look forward to hearing guest preachers and church members Bill and Carolyn Blevins. Bill and Carolyn met as freshmen at Carson-Newman. Following graduation, they married and began studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from which they earned Master's degrees. Bill also received a PhD in New Testament Greek from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and an EdS in Counseling Psychology from the University of Tennessee. Each of them did additional studies at other institutions. Both enjoyed careers on the CN faculty. Bill taught in Religion (focusing on New Testament) and in the Graduate Mental Health Counseling program. He continues as an adjunct professor since he retired in 2013. Carolyn taught int he Religion Department (focusing on History of Christianity) until she retired in 2006. Both have appreciated being a part of First Baptist Church for several decades. Their children, Suzanne, Art, Alan, and Kym were privileged to grow up in this church and be a part of FBC's ministry to children and to youth. Currently Bill and Carolyn enjoy spoiling five grandchildren, Alex, Jaclyn, Sydney, Noah, and Neal.
