Don Garner - August 21

We are fortunate to have Don Garner preach for us in August 21. Don has a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; an M.Div. and Ph.D. in Old Testament studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; and further study at Candler School of Theology and Duke Divinity School. Don joined the Carson-Newman faculty in 1980 and teaches Old Testament Introduction, Old Testament Prophets, and Proverbs, Job, and Ecclesiastes. He frequently is invited to speak in churches and has serves as interim pastor in Kentucky and Tennessee. He is certified as an Intentional Interim Minister. He has taught at two seminaries and has published one book and many articles about the Bible and Christian faith. Don especially enjoys "old" things like antique automobiles and doing archaeology in Jordan. Don and Vickie are the parents of three sons Aaron, Andrew, and Adam.
