Minister of Music
Kim Bowen grew up in Waycross, Georgia. He is a graduate of Samford University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kim has served churches in Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee. He has served on music ministry committees in the states of Arkansas and Tennessee. He is a member of ACDA, The CenturyMen and the Tennessee Baptist Men's Chorale.
Kim is married to the former Kathy C. Fussell, a graduate of the University of Louisville and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kathy also serves as our church organist. Kathy and Kim have three children, Aaron, Nicki and Jordan Lee.
Kim’s hobbies are gardening, golf and college football.
Minister to Youth & College Students
Eric Hasha was born in Midland, TX but grew up in Birmingham, AL. He is a graduate of Samford University and The Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, VA. He previously served at Tabernacle Baptist Church (Richmond, VA) and University Avenue Baptist Church (Honolulu, HI). Eric is excited to serve in a community of faith that is actively seeking to follow Christ and live life together in discipleship and mission. Eric is married to Cristy Hasha and the father of Abi and Everett.
When Eric isn't in the office he is enjoying passions around his home like gardening, wood working, and playing with his kids. He also likes the outdoors either hiking, biking or running the streets of Jefferson City. Wave to him or give him the shaka the next time you see him around.
Minister to Children & Families
Becky joined our staff in April of 2014.
She spent her childhood years in the Carolinas then headed west to Carson Newman University to become the third generation in her family to graduate from CN. While a student, she was a watchcare member at First Baptist Church.
Becky married her college sweetheart, Jim, who is from Kingsport, TN. They have two young adult children. Abby teaches fourth grade in Charlotte, NC and James who is living his dream in Jackson Hole, WY.
Becky's undergraduate degree is in religion with a church recreation major. She received her Master's of Religious Education from Southwestern Theological Seminary. She began her local church ministry at Greenlawn Baptist in Columbia, SC. She then moved to North Carolina where she served Providence Baptist and most recently Pritchard Memorial, both in Charlotte, NC. While in NC, she also served as an interim at St. John's Baptist, was on the weekday ministry board for the NC Baptist State Convention and was a consultant for weekday ministries.
Becky is honored to partner with parents in laying a faith foundation for their child. When she is not working, she enjoys teaching swimming, kayaking, collecting nativities and autographed children's literature, cheering on the Panthers, Vols and Eagles. She and Jim are excited to call Rocky Top their new home!
Administrative Pastor and Minister to Senior Adults
Bill Rosser, Administrative Pastor and Minister to Senior Adults, grew up in Knoxville and received degrees from UT, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Southern Seminary. Much of his pastoral ministry was spent in Indiana, where he was pastor and interim pastor of several churches. For ten years he was also chaplain at the Madison State Hospital in Madison, IN.
Bill is married to Linda and they have three children and nine grandchildren.

Karen Wilson was born in Louisville, KY, and graduated from Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She married Jim Wilson in 1974 and they have two children, Elizabeth Jones (Spencer) of Jefferson City, TN, and Amanda Taylor (Jason) of Clinton, TN. They have two grandsons, Eli and Noah.
Karen joined the First Baptist Church staff as an administrative assistant on October 1, 1987. Karen enters contributions into the computer, handles memorial gifts, coordinates the Deacon Family Ministry Program, prepares TableTalk, the Sunday bulletin, and the weekly prayer list, orders supplies, and answers the phone and door.
When not at work, she enjoys reading, watching NCIS, eating out, and playing with her grandsons.
Lea Ann Brummett
Lea Ann Brummett began her new job as ministry assistant on Friday, September 13, 2013 and is happy to report that beginning work on Friday, the 13th has not caused her any harm, thus far. She came to FBC from having worked for the Jefferson County School System as both substitute teacher and secretary.
She was born and raised in Sikeston, Missouri. Lea Ann is a University of Louisville graduate, who completed her bachelor degree while her husband, Ross, completed his Ph.D at Southern Seminary. Ross accepted a teaching position in the Religion Department at Carson Newman and they moved to Jefferson City in August, 1987. They have parented two children, Molly and Will, and enjoy walking beside them on their journey of adulthood. The Brummett family calls Jefferson City and First Baptist Church "home."
Lea Ann's part-time ministry position allows her the opportunities to greet and assist visitors and members in the office and by phone, coordinate Tuesday's Neighbors, update the church's website, order literature for Sunday Bible Study, and Wednesday night activities, keep Bible Study data current and prepare monthly Bible Study reports, assist with worship responsibilities, extended session, and anything else that might need doing....and hopefully, with a smile.
Food Services Director
Betty was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, but raised in Michigan. Her family moved to Talbott, TN when she was in the 4th grade. She accepted Christ as a child and was baptized at Panther Springs United Methodist Church in Morristown where her family attended. She graduated from Morristown West High School and attended Walters State Community College, where she met her husband of 26 years, David. They were married in 1985 at Panther Springs United Methodist Church. David grew up in church here at First Baptist, so when they moved back home, they made it their church home also. They now have three beautiful children, Kristen, Zach, and Jessie.
Betty joined the staff of First Baptist fourteen years ago as the Food Services Director. As you explore the many ministries our church has to offer, she hopes you will find a place where you can become involved. Beth Ann Smith
Children's Day Out Director
Beth Ann grew up primarily in South Mississippi and graduated from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS, in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education. Her parents had moved to Jefferson County the year before, and she and her husband Matt followed in the summer of 2004 so that Matt could attend graduate school at the University of TN. After working for several years, Beth Ann became a stay at home mother, and her children began attending Children’s Day Out. When the position opened up for the CDO Director in the fall 2011, she jumped at the opportunity to work with children again. Now with a total of 5 young children of her own, she is thrilled to be a part of providing child care for local families in a loving, Christian environment.
Jack Prather joined our staff as one of our facility caretakers in September 2015. Jack was born in Ashland, Kentucky but grew up in Northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C. Jack worked in the auto industry for forty years and was a mechanic for 27 years. He then worked in the Parts Department of a BMW Dealer for 13 years and for the last ten years, managed an Auto Body Parts Department. He and his wife Anna, have two sons and five grandchildren. Jack and Anna joined FBC three years ago. We are thankful to have them both as members and Jack on staff at FBC.

Dr. Ryan Fogg
Dr. Ryan Fogg has served as the pianist for First Baptist Church since 2006, playing for both the contemporary and traditional services. He is also the Director of Keyboard Studies and Associate Professor of Music at Carson-Newman University. He and his wife, Nicki, have two young children, Cora and Graham.
